 ST. JOHNLAND SPONSORS CAREGIVER GATHERING
    St. Johnland Nursing Center in Kings Park is sponsoring two Caregiver Gatherings on Tuesday, November 29 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and Thursday, December 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the St. Johnland Chapel.
    Speakers include Ronald Hedgepeth, Ph.D., Neuropsychologist at St. Johnland, discussing “Recognizing Psychological Disorders in the Elderly”; Aaron Futterman, Esq., Futterman & Lanza, LLP, discussing “Elder Law and Medicaid Planning”; and Michael Saglinbeni, U.S. Social Security Administration, outlining “The New Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Part D”.
    The sessions are open to the public; seating is limited, so please register early by calling Barbara Malave at 631-663-2474.  Respite care is available for the November 29 program.
    St. Johnland provides skilled nursing care with specialties in head injury rehabilitation and Alzheimer’s/dementia care and subacute care.  They also provide home health care and adult day care. For further information, please call (631) 269-5800.

SNAP Long Island Seeks Youth Clothing

    SNAP Long Island, a non-profit youth services agency, is seeking donations of new or mildly used children’s clothes from size newborn to 10/12. The clothes will be distributed, free of charge, to needy families in the area.
    Clothing donations can be brought to SNAP’s thrift shop, the Clothing Closet, located at 83 E. Main Street in Patchogue. Questions regarding drop off times or other items should be directed to Kathy at 631-447-0960. 
    SNAP Long Island, formerly known as the Suffolk Network on Adolescent Pregnancy, has served Suffolk County since 1979, when the Suffolk County Executive established SNAP as a blue ribbon task force. The agency’s mission is to provide leadership, programs and services to help empower youth to make healthier decisions. SNAP has been the designated county-funded agency for adolescent pregnancy prevention and services coordination since 1985.
